The offices of BP Rotterdam Refinery (BP RR) has won the ‘Havenbeeld’ 2011. The ‘Havenbeeld’ is a price that is awarded annually by the Port of Rotterdam, to the company that has distinguished itself in substantially improving the overall quality of the Rotterdam Harbour.
The BP RR offices, designed by GROUP A, was praised by the jury for its outstanding qualities. ‘The full integration into the surrounding landscape, while safeguarding the quality of the accommodation itself, provides a pleasant environment.’ according to the jury report. ‘Despite the size of the building the human scale is well retained, preventing both users and visitors from feeling lost in this environment. In the surrounding highly industrial area, an oasis of peace has been achieved. The development provides a pleasant and stimulating working environment for the employees.’

With the awarded price, Thys Heyns has received an artwork and a professional photograph of the new BP premises. Also nominated for the price were the Gate LNG Terminal and the premises of ITS.
