Vote for BP Raffinaderijkantoor in the Rotterdam Architectuurprijs 2011

The Rotterdam Architectuurprijs 2011, organised by AIR, will be awarded this coming 21 December.  A total of twenty-two projects, all fitting this year’s theme: ‘Commercial Buildings’, have been shortlisted by both the organisers of the award and the chairman of the jury. The award consists of two parts: the Professional Award [awarded by a professional jury], and the Public Award [awarded by the people of Rotterdam].

The Professional Award will go to the team of client – architect – contractor, that in their opinion has realised the best commercial building in Rotterdam over the last three years. The Public Award.will be announced by Hamit Karakus, the alderman for Housing & Planning.

The professional jury was asked to review the projects according to the principles and guidelines anchored in the Municipal Note ‘New Architecture of Rotterdam’: focus on sustainability, embedding of the build in the surounding context, respecting and reflecting the typical Rotterdam identity, and of course the architectural- and technical quality.

The Rotterdam Architectuurprijs is an initiative of the Municipality of Rotterdam, aiming at stimulating the city’s already rich architectural culture.
